21 January 2007
At Holyhead Leisure Centre
18&Under Team Game
The Vikings started the first period fiercely and were soon leading 3 - 0, before Hayden Owen broke down the middle and at the last minute laid a pass to Mark Parry who duly slotted the puck under the Llandudno netminder to end the period training 1 - 3.
The second period saw much of the same as the visitors netted another three goals with Holyhead unable to answer back.
The Vikings then went the rampage and doubled their score in the final period to 12 before Simon Lukehurst hit a pass into the path of Jake Roberts who hit it first time to get the Trojan's second goal for a final score of 12 - 2 to the Vikings.
Scorers and assist were Mark Parry (1G), Jake Roberts (1G), Hayden Owen (1A) and Simon Lukehurst (1A)
MVP - Most Valuable Player: Laura Evans - made save after save, conceding only 4 goals against 32 shots.
14&Under Team Game
Matthew Birch, Mark Parry and Scott Craven had all played up in the previous 18's and so it was hoped they wouldn't be too tired to put in a good performance against the Vikings. This proved not to be the case as Mark scored four times and Scott scored once but also got two assists in helping Mark get his four for a first period lead of 5 - 2.
Mark again scored after receiving a pass from Scott, before Matthew's pass was hit first time by Scott to bag his second goal. There was some great last man defending by Ian Owen and netwminder Kyle Thorney-Potter was in good form when the Vikings did break through. Mark then scored again for Holyhead to go into the last period leading 8 - 4.
The last period was very tight with both teams' netminders putting in good performances, whereby the only goal came from Llandudno where they reduced the final score deficit to 8 - 5 in favour of the Trojans.
Scorers and assist were Mark Parry (6G), Scott Craven (2G & 4A), Matthew Birch (1) and Ryan Twiss (1A)
MVP - Most Valuable Player: Mark Parry - despite playing in the previous 18's match, he still gave his all and was always chasing back to help out in defence.

Holyhead Trojans V St Asaph Shadows
10 December 2006
At Holyhead Leisure Centre
14&Under Team Game
The opening period was very tight with both teams having scoring chances and Trojan's netminder Kyle Thorney-Potter, making a few superb saves and Ian Owen making numerous last man tackles to keep the score 0 - 0 for the 2nd period.
The second period saw Holyhead up the temp with Matthew Birch fighting doggedly for possession and eventually kicking the puck to Mark Parry who then dummied the keeper to get his first. Mark then got his second when he went around three St Asaph players to slot home. Dales Stalman then got slotted the puck under the Shadows netminder after persevering through their defence. The Shadows hit back before Mark tackled a defender to win possession and score to give the home side a 4 - 1 lead going into the final period. Again Ian Owen was brilliant in defence, often putting his body in the way of powerfully struck shots.
The Shadows opened the 3rd period with a goal to close the gap, before Scott Craven seized on a blocked shot from Ryan Twiss to score past a stranded keeper. St Asaph again hit back before Mark sealed the win 6 - 4 for Holyhead.

11&Under Team Game
Both teams had a few chances with Huw Morgan-Jones and Byron Thorne coming close, but the Shadows were more clinical and ended the period leading 4 - 0.
Despite much effort by Holyhead they were unable to prevent St Asaph increasing their lead to 6 - 0 in the second period.
Patrick pulled off a number of good saves in the final period to restrict the visitors to an 8 - 0 win and Gwilyn Jones was always tackling hard in defence.
MVP - Most Valuable Player: Patrick Edwards - without Patrick making many fine saves, the score could have been far more to the visitors.
18&Under Team Game
This was the Trojans first competitive game of the season, after some difficulty with fixtures and the Pirates 18's team conceding two weeks previously. The first period saw the Shadows take a 4- 0 lead with some clinical finishing, although without netminder Laura Evans making some great saves, the score could have been higher.
Mark Parry, playing up from the 14's team, then got one back in the second period after going passed a defender, he lifted the puck over the keepers shoulder. The visitors responded by getting three more goals to go into the final period with a 7 - 1 lead.
The final period started with the Trojans striking back when Mark's pass found Simon Lukehurst, who's instant back pass into Mark's path was cleanly slotted under the keepers legs. Unfortunately the Shadows then hit back and punished Holyhead by getting six more goals to win the match 13 - 2.
Scorers and assists were Mark Parry (2G) and Simon Lukehurst (1A)
MVP - Most Valuable Player: Laura Evans - made save after save and prevented a score-line that could have exceeded 20.

In the second period, the Porthmadog team stretched their lead to 4 - 0, before Mark Parry seized on a loose puck to go round their last defender and then lift the puck over their netminder's outstretched right hand. The Pirates quickly hit back with a goal of their own to go into the final period leading 5 - 1.

The visitors then stretched their lead further before Byron Thorne broke clear from the half way line to score, unassisted. The Pirates then hit back to go into the final period leading 7 - 2.

Holyhead Trojans V Predators
1 October 2006
At Holyhead Leisure Centre
14&Under Team Game
This was the Trojans first match of the season, and a tough test against the formidable Predators from Deeside, who this season have only been able to field a 14&U team, but who were league and play-off champions last season. Holyhead's 14&U netminder was unable to play, so the 11&U's netminder, Patrick Edwards, bravely stepped into the breach.
Holyhead seemed unfazed as Dale Stalman broke down the right and then passed into the path of Mark Parry who was able to open the scoring by slotting the puck home under the netminder's legs. Mark next shot hit the post, but the rebound was put away by a grateful Dale to get his first goal since moving up to the 14's age group. The Predators hit back before Mark's shot from out wide found their keeper napping and restored their 2 goal advantage. Again the visitors scored before Mark went past three players to again score. The Predators then staged a mini comeback to end the first period with a 5-4 lead.
Soon into the 2nd period the visitors increased their lead to 6-4, before Mark got his 4th.This period saw tit for tat scoring with both sides getting another goal each to go into the final period with the Trojans trailing by a single goal 7-6.
The final period saw Myrddin's speculative swing shot from the half way line find the back of the net, before the Predators then went on a goal spree against a now exhausted Trojan team. Mark was able to find the back of the net again, but it was small consolation as the score ended 15-8 to the Predators.
This was a good team effort from all, with Mark, Scott and Matthew Birch in particular showing their experience.
Scorers and Assists were Mark Parry 6G/1A, Dale Stalman 1G/1A, Myrddin Griffiths 1G and Scott Craven 2A
MVP - Most Valuable Player: Patrick Edwards (netminder) - bravely stood in by playing up in the 14's age group, and made many stops.
