Playing In-Line Hockey:
A game of in-line hockey is played in 3 periods, normally, each lasting 14-16 minutes depending on age group.
Each team can have upto 12 players and 2 netminders on the bench.
A team can be devided up into 3 lines of 4 out-players, if theres enough players, with a netminder.
1 Line of 4 players and a netminder is out on the rink at any one time playing against the opposite team.
|
|
A line of 4 players normally consists of 2 defenders and 2 attackers.
Due to speed of play and exertion, lines are swapped about every 60 seconds, as in ice hockey, either 1 man at a time or
an entire line if play is temporarily stopped.
If a player commits a foul then he can be sin-binned for 2 minutes. If further players commit fouls then the
playing line can be reduce again in numbers.
Hooking of sticks is permitted, but only of the player in possession of the puck.
|
|
Leagues:
North Wales has three age based leagues; 11&Under's, 14&Under's and 18&Under's.
The top four teams in each of the three age based leagues go into the end of season play-offs to determine the overall
North Wales Champions for the three age groups.

|
Safety:
Although in-line hockey is very similar to ice hockey, body checking is not allowed.
All players must wear a minimum of safety clothing that includes groin box/protector, knee/shin-pads, elbow pads, gloves and a helmet with full-face visor.
Recommended additional safety equipment is chest/shoulder padding (available in one-piece) and padded girdle/trousers.
The club is fully insured and coaching is carried out only by qualified staff.
